S32DS v3.4 Clock tool not working correctly?

I try to configure the clocks with the clock tool in S32DS v3.4 and it says there are no errors, and everything should be in line with the S32K144 datasheet, yet I get STATUS_ERROR from CLOCK_DRV_Init function.

Is this a known issue or what might I be doing wrong? Is the tool producing invalid configurations?

And is there a way to get more information why the clock initialization fails?

I now have core clock configured as 15.6MHz yet through an SDK function the device reports 78MHz. The changes don't take effect.

It's like sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Sometimes changes have an affect, other times they don't. Seems like a defective tool.

And I can't install v3.6 because it is impossible to get it to work with S32K1.
