The question is, what are today's approaches to keep tracking the rotor position when speed is at zero but manually changed rotor position. What would be required to monitor induced voltage to stator feeders as a result of rotor angle changed using BEMF observer?

Hello,

current approaches are based on high frequency voltage/current injection methods to detect position at zero speed.

You can find general theory on web.

Or you can request training, via professional services which helps customers with their application:

What is an approach to monitor rotor free spinning due to external forces?
