Hi NXP Team,

I have a question with decouple core(S32K324)  and lockstep core(S32K344)

Lockstep core in S32K344 Can't process the dual tasks at the same time even though it has 2 cores?

If my application need performace and less safety the S32k324 is a better choice than S32k344?

Best Regards,

Kevin

Hello,

Lockstep core in S32K344 Can't process the dual tasks at the same time even though it has 2 cores?

Of course not. Lock step core is not full featured core and it is only replicating execution of its primary core, to ensure that core is executing correctly.

It is supposed to fulfill ASIL-D safety requirements on safe execution.

If my application need performance and less safety the S32k324 is a better choice than S32k344?

Yes, it is better to choose ASIL-B class device with decoupled cores if safety is not priority:
