Does S32K116 EVB needs UJA1169 SPI initialization?

Hi,

I have S32K116 Evaluation Board. The board has SBC UJA1169 Transceiver. My doubt is does the transceiver needs SPI initialization for sending and receiving CAN messages? One more doubt does PCAN supports Classical CAN simulation with the S32K116 EVB? Kindly requesting for help from somebody.

Hi,
The SBC is in Forced normal mode by default and the CAN transceiver is enabled in that mode.
So, if you need only the CAN transceiver, you don’t need to initialize the SBC.
Please refer to UJA1169 datasheet. 

7.1.1.7 Forced Normal mode

Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with PCAN.
