Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a 100BASE-T1 TJA110x adapter along with an S32K344 T172 development board. I’m trying to learn more about the automotive Ethernet interface, and I could use some guidance.
From my understanding, in order to send an Ethernet packet from the S32K344 dev board to my PC, I need to do the following:
Is this setup correct? If so, I’m also struggling to find a compatible male connector cable for the S32K344 J415 Ethernet connector that would magically connect it to the J3 - 100BASE-T1 2-Pin Connector. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase this cable, or is there a specific part number I should look for?
Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can offer!
Connor
Hi,
Yes, your setup is correct - you need something like RDDRONE-T1ADAPT: Ethernet media converter | NXP Semiconductors to connect 100BASE-T1 to your computer.
The used magic socket is this one 2304372-1 : MATEnet Automotive Headers | TE Connectivity. The compatible connectors are listed on the same page as well as distributor's list. BTW, the socket specification is listed in BOM of the EVB (BOM is included in https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=S32K3X4EVB-T172-HWPACK).
100BASE-T1 has no super strict requirements for wiring, so I would do a reduction cable to the adapter (e.g. JST-GH).
Best regards,
Pavel
