Hi Team,

I have the next two questions:

1. Is the S32G234M pin to pin compatible with the S32G274A?

2. I know there is no A core in the S32G234M,Whether S32G234M is compatible with S32G274A software for M core?

Hi,

Below will be some comments for your question:

Q1 >> Is the S32G234M pin to pin compatible with the S32G274A?

A1 >> All S32G2 family is compatible with pin-pin package. S32G2 family is only provided on a single package type, as told on the S32G2 data sheet [Table 1, Page 6, S32G2 Data Sheet, Rev. 6, 12/2022]:

"Package: 525 flip chip plastic ball grid array (525 FC-PBGA), 19 mm × 19 mm, 0.8 mm pitch "

Considerations must be taken on regards of the non-available modules (i.e DDR). More information is provided on the "S32G2 Hardware Design Guidelines" available on the S32G2 product page (link: S32G2 Safe and Secure Vehicle Network Processor | NXP Semiconductors)

Q2 >> I know there is no A core in the S32G234M,Whether S32G234M is compatible with S32G274A software for M core?

A2 >> The following is said on the "S32G Vehicle network Processor Software Enablement" brochure:

"The software support offered to enable the features on the S32G2 and S32G3 processors can be split into 3 areas:

• Running on the Arm Cortex-M7
• Running on the Arm Cortex-A53
• Running on the accelerators"

Also, the following is provided under the "Introduction to S32G Software Offering" training presentation:

Since the core is the same for both platforms, there should be code compatibility. As said before, care should be taken for the modules that are not available.

Please, let us know.
