S32G3 V1.0 soc board shutdown by critical temperature reached with BSP39 release

Hi,

Recently, we tested the S32G3 Rev1.0 boards with BSP39 release, and we find that the board shutdown sometimes by critical temperature reached, but there is no similar issue with BSP38 or on S32G3 Rev1.1 SOC with BSP39 codes.

And the log info is attached.

Would you please help to confirm the issue?

Thanks,

Zhantao

Hi,

We have received the following feedback development team:

Seems to be similar to the behavior you are seeing.

Please, let us know.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

The workaround is helpful.

And would you please help to tell the issue is just seen on S32G3 v1.0 platform or both on v1.0 and v1.1 platforms?

Thanks,

Zhantao

Hi,

We understand that it applies to both revisions, since it is linked to the BSP version rather than the silicon revision (we see no ERRATA on this regard). This since looking under BSP38.0, we see no mention about this situation, hence we imply it is directly related to BSP39.0.

Please, let us know.

Hi,

Thanks for you reply.

So as you said, you see the same issue on S32G3 v1.0/v1.1 platforms based on BSP39.

But I think the reason why you did not see the issue on BSP38 is that, the CPU thermal support has not been added in BSP38 yet.

Anyway, would you tell when the issue can be fixed? BSP40?

Thanks,

Zhantao

Hi,

For this specific known issue, we cannot see when it will be fixed. We do apologize.

This not to say that it is not under the scope of the development team, it is just that we are unable to get the specific deadline they have for this known issue.

We suspect BSP40.0 should come with the fix, but it is just an assumption.

Again, we apologize.

Please, let us know.

Hi,

This seems related to the support under BSP39.0. The following is shown under the BSP39.0 release notes:

DanielAguirre_0-1707415362594.png

For which, no S32G3 v1.0 silicon is supported. If we look into the BSP38.0 release notes, we see the following:

Where S32G3 v1.0 silicon was still supported.

Please, let us know.
