S32G3 Powering on

Hello,

I have a S32G3 Board, and i'm trying to use it to run my software using a Lauterbach debugger.

I connected my board to the 12V power jack.

When i turn on the board, i can see the Power Red Led turned on.

Whenever i connect the debugger it sees that the ECU is on RESET mode, and so i'm not able to flash anything.

Randomly I saw the led changed to the Green color and only then i am able to flash.

I'm not sure of the connection, when would the led turns to Green ? is there any steps required for me to be able to connect a debugger and flash?

I have all the switches settings on the Serial Boot .

I also noticed that the board gets really hot even though all the coolers are in place.

Hello, @SahaarA

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, if the Red LED always glows, then the board is resetting, the debugger could not connected to the board correctly

In common, the Red LED only glows for a short period of time during the board resetting/power-on, other time the Green on always glows, so it seems the board state is abnormal from your description,  is the default adapter that from the board package used? which is with output 12V-6.67A, 80W max.

I suggest firstly checking your power supply.

Hello,

I do have the Switches settings set to Serial Boot.

I think my main problem is related to the board itself not the Lauterbach.,

I can see the Red Led power on the moment  i connect the ECU to the power and switch the power Switch.

I can only flash when the Greed LED is powered on, but i'm not sure when that happens? as now i dont see it power on at all, thats why i'm not able to connect the debugger, it always says "RESET".

Thank You,

Sahar

Hello, @SahaarA

Thanks for the post.

Not sure which kind of Lauterbach debugger you are working with, I ever used E40 to flash the QSPI on S32G3RDB3, the QSPI NOR could be successfully flashed.

On RDB3 side, all switches are set to serial boot.

And the LEDs on the debugger functioned with the same description as https://www2.lauterbach.com/pdf/installation.pdf.

I suggest referencing the Lauterbach document for the details of LED and connection status.
