S32G: validating TSN capability of SJA1110 switch connected via PFE_MAC0

HI,

I'm working on the S32G-VNP-RDB2 board which has a Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) capable network switch (SJA1110). In using the BSP 33.0 Linux Auto BSP Yocto SDK.

I have a question and a request for guidance:

Question:
Is the network interface pfe0 available in Linux also capable of TSN that is connected to the SJA1110 switch? Or is it just the switch and the pfe0 cannot do TSN?

Required Guidance:
How can I validate TSN on the S32G? Is there a way to validate the TSN capability of SJA1110 from Linux? Or do we require external TSN capable end-points to be able to validate the TSN on S32G? Is the TSN network necessary for validation of TSN capability of SJA? Any example setups or resources/links will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Arsalan

Hi,

Regarding the question, PFE EMACs support TSN under 802.1as only.

As to guidance, at this moment NXP does not provide anything regarding a validation process for TSN. We can recommend you to look within the suppliers in charge of the equipment needed for Automotive Ethernet and its validation, they should have a better guidance regarding this topic.

We do apologize for this.

Please, let us know if this information was helpful or not.
