Hi,

This page indicates some differences between S32DS for S32 and S32DS for Arm.

https://www.nxp.com/design/software/development-software/s32-design-studio-ide:S32-DESIGN-STUDIO-IDE

That page lists under each:

S32DS for S32: S32 SDK, supported products: S32K1

S32DS for Arm: S32K1 SDK, supported products: S32K1

Is there a difference?

Until now we have been using S32DS for Arm, for an FS32K148UJT0VLQT, and have been using the RTM 4.0.2 SDK release.  This page however shows releases only going to 3.0.2:

https://www.nxp.com/design/software/development-software/s32-sdk/s32-software-development-kit-for-s3...

Very confused about version numbers and what is what.

Can we or should we switch from the Arm IDE to the S32 IDE?

Thanks!!

Hello m_mishrikey!
The S32DS for S32 platform is the new and recommended IDE for s32k1xx and s32k3xx MCUs.
I strongly recommend updating your development environment to it.

Curious if anyone knows why the SDK download page doesn't show release notes from 4.0.2.

Thanks!  Where may I find the release notes on your website?

This page only shows up to 3.0.2?

Okay, thanks.

If I get the offline installer, do I need to install the service pack as well?  Or does the offline installer already include those updates?

Is it correct that the latest S32K1 SDK version is 3.0.2?

The Offline Installer is a released stable base version. It needs to be patched when the patches become available. It is always a good idea to have the latest version of the IDE.

At this moment, I have installed the 4.0.2 version of the S32k1XX SDK as shown in the image below.
