What are ".m" files and what tool is used to process them

There are several ".m" files like so PlatformSDK_S32K3_2022_03/SW32K3_RTD_4_4_2_0_0_D2203/Adc_TS_T40D34M20I0R0/generate_PB. What are ".m" files? I presume that they are inputs to a template engine of some kind. What template engine/tool can process these files and what is the format of the template language?

yes, these files are used for generation of source code. However, these files are not supposed to be used by users, so we do not provide more details about them.
