S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform v.3.4 license activation

Hi,

I am trying to (re-)install S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform v.3.4, but when entering the license I get the following message:

                Software Activation Code is already used on this station for SW32_S32DS_3.5 APUCompiler 2.0

Can I do anything here, or does the license need to be deactivated by NXP remotely first?

You click on the download link from the S32 Design Studio Product Page. This triggers the Flexera system to generate an activation code for the specific version of S32 Design Studio you selected.

I checked your account. I see that you have 2 activation codes. Are you sure you are using the correct one?

1) One that begins with '4973' is for S32 Design Studio v3.5

2) One that begins with 'FE8C' is for S32 Design Studio v3.4

Please check the activation code and try again.

Hello @mikedoidge, thanks for the reply. Not sure if I'm looking at something wrong, but both v3.4 and v3.5 are showing up with the same license code in my license list:

In any case, I tried installing v3.4 with the FE8C instead of 4973, and with it I am getting the following message:

That won't work. Just changing the first 4 characters creates an invalid activation code. You need to use the full activation code associated with FE8C. I left the rest off since this is a public forum.

Our licensing implementation is a bit confusing, so allow me to explain. There are two ways to get licenses:

1) You click on the download link from the S32 Design Studio Product Page. This triggers the Flexera system to generate an activation code for the specific version of S32 Design Studio you selected.

S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform v3.4

S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform v3.5

The first time you do this, an email is sent to the address on the account containing the activation code. But you can always find it by navigating to the page where the link to download the install file is located and selecting the 'License Keys' tab.

2) Someone sends you an entitlement for a particular device. In your case, S32K3 Standard Software. This gives you entitlement for any version of S32 Design Studio. This license can move between versions, but only forward. So once it is used for v3.5, it no longer works for v3.4 and so on. This is the activation code you are currently trying to use for both v3.4 and v3.5.

You already have a license for v3.4 by method 1 above, but it seems you aren't aware of it. To help with this, I suggest you use the link I provided above for the v3.4 download and look for the 'License Keys' tab and find your v3.4-specific activation code. It should match the first 4 characters with 'FE8C'.

Good golly, was this confusing.

If I go through this path on the Product list page:

Product list -> Automotive SW - S32K3 Standard Software -> S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform v.3.4 with support for S32K3 devices -> License keys -> S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform v.3.4 with support for S32K3 devices -> I end up at the key starting with 4973 (doesn't work)

But, if I go through this path:

Product list -> NXP Software -> S32 Design Studio IDE -> S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform v.3.4 -> License keys -> S32 Design Studio for S32 Platform v.3.4 -> I end up at the key starting with FE8C (this one works)

I guess the "... with support for S32K3 devices" is relating to a completely different product.

Anyway, thanks for the directions, installation and activation went OK.
