Hi

Thanks for the earlier support..

i am using MC9S12Z. micro, on my application i have configured 10Mhz external clock frequency to run the system.

and i have enabled OMRE( Oscillator Monitor Reset Enable ) to reset the system when if loss of clock or clock failure happens.

so, here i need to simulate the test scenarios for reset the micro by loss of clock or clock failure behavior.

please need some support on this, any test code or method to test.

Regards,

venkat.

hi,

Thanks for the reply. here one concerns, if i am shorting the EXTAL pin to the GND, its will not harm to hardware part?

Please mention the value of resistor.

Regards,

venkat.

Hi,

It should not damage the oscillator, the EXTAL pin is the input of the oscillator and the EXTAL voltage must stay in the Absolute Max Ratings (Table A-3, S12ZVL RM rev.2.48).

I think you can use a 1k resistor, for example.

Hi,
You can simply short the EXTAL pin to GND via a resistor.
