SCBDMPGMRS12 - IC U3 burnt out

I've been using the SCBDMPGMRS12 for some time. Not sure what happened but the IC in position U3 has burnt out! I need help identifying it - it's a 14 pin item that reads MAX337??UD - I think the ??=EE. Searching on the internet does not yield any good results - can anyone help identify the IC please?

If not, can someone suggest an alternative to programme the MC9S12DP256 that I can purchase in the UK quickly.

I've seen this in Farnell: http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/level5/module.jsp?moduleId=en/429056.xml&sku=1165943 but not sure it supports the micro I'm updating.

Thanks,

Davesh

Sounds like you are a software guy like me :smileyhappy: MAX is one of the most well-known circuit labellings out there, it is only used by Maxim. http://www.maxim-ic.com/quick_view2.cfm/qv_pk/1704

P&E multilink works excellent for S12D. You should check if your compiler/debugger supports it. If you have Codewarrior, you need version 3.1 or later for that pod.

Hi Lundin -

Actually someone else does the SW programming, I just test it.

Does the BDM multilink come with software to be able to download to flash/EEPROM or do I need to purchase separately? My main purpose for this programmer is just to update modules with latest SW versions.

U3 is a MAX3378E. You can find it here:

Freescale will repair your SCBDMPGMRS12 if you contact your local distributor sales office.
