Dears,

   Our customer use MC9S12XEP100MAG for Automotive Power Controller, and now find some times software run stuck, at this moment, we can not reset via Hiwave.exe when Hysnatic. Also, can not reset by short RST, GND.

Hi,

It is not easy to answer your issue. This is not a standard behavior. As a first step I would like to see the schematic design of the MCU environment. If it is confidential please create a case via support pages or I can do it in behalf of you. Of course, the device can be damaged from any reason.

MCU reset is independent from any HW/ SW or structure inside the MCU. In the “application” (normal) mode of the MCU it can happen you are in permanent circulating Reset because of incorrect SW but if you are not able to reset externally via hiwave it is an issue. I hope, you have, in order to be sure, MODC pulled up, MODB and MODA pulled down to be able to generate special single chip mode. One thing I would also to check is, I would start the MCU in special single chip mode MODC=MODB=MODA=0 and check XCLKS pin whether the MCU is running. You should see BUSCLK=OSCCLK/2 at the ECLK pin.

I did HotSync in the same software position,found the data difference as attached, can you help to advice?

Hi Lama,

   Thanks for your kindly help,

   The problem is sitll sticking us,customer used uCOS in their system, when stuck, Hiwave software reset or hardware jump reset to GND can not change the MCU registers status, only reboot via power off can help to work well.

  Can you help to advice?
