Questions about S912ZVMC25F1WKK manual parameters

Hi,

1. The problem of S912ZVMC25F1WKK chip;

a) Voltage operating range

It is written in the data manual of this chip that the normal working voltage is 7-20V;  Expandable to 26.6V (only 1 hour life cycle)

It is written in the manual on page 892 that the voltage withstand of HD pin is limited, so can it be solved by voltage divider?

b) Drive capacity of three-phase bridge area

According to the calculation method in 18.5.1 in the manual, the maximum driving current is 150mA. Is it correct?

I want to do a 24V BLDC controller, looking for a MC  demand for working voltage: 0V-32V;  Operating temperature: -40-130℃;  Integration function: CAN communication module, three-phase bridge area function;  Gauge device.  Please also help to recommend other suitable chips, thank you very much!

Hi @RheaGao,

a.

Yes, the operation is limited because S12Z MCUs target 12V automotive applications only.

Regarding using a divider at the HD pin, this is feasible, you can refer to these application notes:

AN11967 S12ZVM Family in 48 V Applications

https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN11967.pdf

AN5082 MagniV in 24V Applications

https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN5082.pdf

However, it you need to use an external voltage regulator and an external driver for the BLDC anyway, it is probably better to use a 5V MCU such as the S32K1xx.

b.

The calculation you mentioned is rather thoretical and it should be removed from the next revision of the RM - based on the latest information I have.

I calculate I_OUT = 1.299A at the fastest slew rate I_REF = 80uA.

Regards,

Daniel
