Hi,

 

There are several programming and debugging possibilities for the S12Z microcontroller:

  1. CodeWarrior Simulator/Debugger Tool (Hiwave): This tool can be used in conjunction with the PEmicro BDM to enter debug mode and utilize the True-Time Simulator & Real-Time Debugger 
  2. PROG12Z Flash Programmer Software: This software, along with its command-line version CPROG12Z, is used for programming and requires the PEmicro BDM (www.pemicro.com)
  3. USB Multilink Universal: This debug probe is compatible with various devices, including the S12Z, and supports debugging and programming. www.pemicro.com
  4. Cyclone Universal and Cyclone Universal FX: These in-system flash debugger/programmers support a wide range of devices, including the S12Z www.pemicro.com
  5. Open Source BDM Interface (OSBDM) and USBDM: These interfaces provide low-cost debugging solutions for Freescale devices, including the S12Z 
  6. TRACE32 by Lauterbach: This advanced tool offers comprehensive debugging features for the S12Z

For example...

MCSXSR1CS12ZVM Evaluation Board: This board is designed for high-current applications and supports 3-phase brushless direct current (BLDC) and permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) control. It features automotive connectivity with LIN or CAN, an on-board OSBDM debugger with a UART-to-USB bridge, and various customizable I/O pins.

S12ZVMEVB Evaluation Board: This board is targeted for 2-phase DC and 3-phase BLDC or PMSM motor control applications. It integrates an MCU with an S12Z core, a 5 V voltage regulator, a LIN physical layer, and a gate driver unit capable of controlling up to 6 power MOSFETs. There are two versions: one with a LIN transceiver (S12ZVML12EVB) and one with a voltage regulator controller for an external CAN transceiver (S12ZVMC12EVB).
