Is S12(X) suitable for driving 3,5" 1/4 VGA color display

Is the S12 or S12X a good choice for driving  a 320x240 pixel 3,5" 1/4 vga color display?

I need only simple graphics with text, buttons, frames, indicators etc.

No photo quality images, or high framerate film sequences.

Any recommended application notes or other pointers?

My self, I wouldn't even consider it.

I'd go 32 bit V1 or V2. Either you will have to limit yourself to 64K or play bank/page games.
You will find the pricing about the same.

The main advantage of the 12 line is its proven track record in Automotive applications, and legacy considerations (like similar to the 11series). Neither of which seem a consideration in your case.
