Why LSDK?

I have software on multiple platforms that are built using Yocto.  I am looking now at the possibility of using Layerscape but noticed that it's emphasis is on using LSDK.

Why would I use LSDK which requires me to learn yet another development environment and requires me to maintain recipes in both Yocto and LSDK?

Regards,

Have a great day,

I think it is a rhetorical question. This introduction says that LSDK meets market demand to more Linux distributions of more types, and satisfy the requirement from a wide variety of customers. It also  provides comparison between LSDK and Yocto SDK. By the way Yocto SDK also supports Layerscape QorIQ devices.
