I downloaded latest kernel with yocto for T2080 and T4240 RDBs. I have run a few tests with SDK2.0 kernel and yocto kernel (which has a version 5.4.3).
The results for T4240RDB are better with higher version kernel which comes with yocto; but results for T2080RDB are worse with higher version kernel.
I use traffic provider to generate 66Byte fixed packets at 10Gbps line rate. I used 2*10G ports on same RDB to forward traffic to each other. The tests are same for a single T2080RDB and T4240RDB.
The results are:
66Byte %100 line rate 10Gbps traffic to each port:
T2080RDB SDK 2.0 RX rate ~2.290Gbps
T2080RDB yocto 5.4.3 kernel RX rate ~1.680Gbps
T4240RDB SDK 2.0 RX rate ~3.390 Gbps
T4240RDB yocto 5.4.3 kernel RX rate ~4.590 Gbps
Why newer version of kernel worse than older version for T2080RDB ?
T4240RDB's performance is better for newer version.
What is the difference between T2080RDB and T4240RDB on new software ?
