Hi,

Based on below power calculation, there is 8.4 Watt power difference of VDD power from 1.2 to 1.8 Ghz core frequency.

Please confirm if Voltage ID feature is not used and core frequency is 1.2Ghz, what will be power on VDD. Is it 15.1 or 23.5 watt?

If Voltage ID feature is not used and core frequency is 1.2Ghz, VDD maximum power consumption is 15,1W.

Maximum power numbers should be used for power supply design.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply

I have referred to "4.6.6 Voltage ID" section in T2080RM, which says "Freescale determines the voltage required to achieve the target frequency bin and programs this information into on-chip Voltage ID (VID) efuses"

The question that i have is: As VID is not configured, can target frequency bin of 1.2Ghz with 15.1 Wats is considered by processor? If yes then VID will effects only 0.9875 to 1.1 Volt variation as specified on DCFG_CCSR_FUSESR field descriptions. please confirm
