We are developing a product for SFP port based on LS1012A processor. We assumed that, SGMII engine is already available in this processor and we need not to have PHY chip for interfacing. Is our assumption correct?
If yes, do you have any reference design for same. Do revert.

Hello TIC,
Thanks for your prompt response.
We do not have any optical fiber as a media for communication.
We need to interface LS1012A processor to SFP port. As you mentioned, LS1012A is not possible to interface to SFP port directly and PHY chip is required, we are looking help for suitable PHY chip between LS1012A and SFP (SGMII).
Also, request to let us know the reason why it is not possible to interface LS1012A SGMII with SFP port directly.
Please help.
Regards
Narendra
You could use any SGMII compatible PHY and SFP optical transceiver to connect to SFP.
On LS1012ARDB, RealTek RTL8211F PHY is used.
Have a great day,
