To whom may it concern.
Hi, I'm HS.
I've been working on the project referenced LS1046ARDB and FRWY-LS1046A.
I found out FRWY-LS1046A populated DDR4 with ECC while LS1046ARDB used socket.
Q1. What's the difference in between FRWY-LS1046A and LS1046ARDB as to DDR4 for bring-up and control?
The system needs DDR4 8GB with ECC. Which one would be better? On board or socket?
Q2. I'm wondering if the SDK provide the source code as to DDR as well as other peripherals.
Q3. I'm wondering if the SDK is freeware.
I'm not sure if i can use these codes for business.
Do i need license contract for this?
Thank you.
Hello HeeSoo Ahn,
Q1 From controller perspective there is no difference between solder down DRAM and UDIMM or SoDIMM.
the difference is just for customer use case and requirements.
For 8GB with ECC both the DIMM and discrete DRAM are supported options. the choice is customer's decision on which one will fullfil thier use case and requirements.
Q2 SDK provides the source code as to DDR as well as other peripherals.
Q3 SDK is freeware.
Thanks,
Yiping
Hello Yiping.
I found out that FRWYLS1046A populated DDR4 4GB.
I wanted to use DDR4 8GB and would really appreciate if you tell me which part i should change in source code regarding DDR4 in SDK.
Thank you!
