LS1021A-IOT Supplied SDK and kernel images mismatch.

The version of the kernel image supplied with the ls1021a-iot is different to the default kernel image built using the LS1021A-IoT Rev B Gateway Linux SDK.

I have built the toolchain, filesystem and a starting application. This run OK with the supplied kernel 3.12.0+ image.

I have built the kernel using the recommend SDK,

>bitbake virtual/kernel

this generates Linux-4.1.30-rt34+g73b5a4eeed04.

the just displays

starting kernel.....

(This kernel image was getting over written by the device tree resulting in a bad crc, I have fixed this)

I am trying to workout the best way to proceed given my limited experience with yocto.

What version of the SDK or how can I modify the configuration to rebuild the 3.12.0+ kernel image version supplied?

Any help appreciated.

The latest SDK for the LS1021a-IOT board is available on the following page:

http://www.nxp.com/products/reference-designs/qoriq-ls1021a-iot-gateway-reference-design:LS1021A-IoT...

It is SDK Rev 0.1.

Look at FAQ in NXP SDK 2.0-1703 documentation:

http://www.nxp.com/docs/en/supporting-information/QORIQ-SDK-2.0-IC-REV0.pdf

Have a great day,
