Vcc5 on MC33PT2001 has absolute maximum of 9V, but a recommendation for 5.25V.
Yet no overvoltage warning not till 7.5V, this does not seem consistent. Can this be resolved ?
I note up untill now normal condition has included 5.5V for 5V parts especially those with automotive use.
Is there any more detail on what happens between 5.25 and 6.2 Volts min of VCC5 overvoltage threshold for VCCP shutdown?
I note other parts made with SMOS10HV have a more typical Vcc range to 5.5V.
OH Erika
Is it permissible then to run Vcc5 at 5V5? Why is this silicon different to the normal 10% range on nominal 5V supply? All I see is some reduced range in the current sense ratings. No mention of stress related to the 1.5V supply.
Hello,
Vcc5 has an absolute maximum 36V. Yes, the recommendation is for 5.25V.
The VCC5 overvoltage monitor is used to disconnect the device from the VCC5 supply in any overvoltage condition at this pin. This is done to guarantee 36 V robustness of the VCC5 pin.
