Hi we have used MPC8358 in our design a 5 year ago. Now, we are facing a problem shortage of DDR2 SDRAM ECC registered buffered. So Anyone cal able to tell me, Can we replace or design a new board with Standard SODIMM unbuffered DDR2 or with discrete chips.

Yes you can.
The MPC8360 reference manual says: The fully programmable DDR SDRAM controller supports most JEDEC standard ×8, ×16, or ×32 DDR2 and DDR memories available. In addition, unbuffered and registered DIMMs are supported. However, mixing different memory types or unbuffered and registered DIMMs in the same system is not supported. It also provides supported configurations
Hi,
Can i use 240 pin memory module with this ? if anyone have some resources , please share .
Thanks
Amit
Thanks for feedbck,Do you have reference circuit interfacing SODIMM or dicrete SDRAM chips?
Please share if you have.

Amit
