[LX2160ARDB] LED status

Hi,

My LX2160ARDB board cannot boot without any output in UART1.

After power on, M5,M6,M7 leds turn on and turn off sequentially and repeatedly.

Is the LED status is normal?

What condition do those LEDs indicate?

Thanks

JeongHwan Kim

Hi,

Boot source is XSPI serial NOR  (SW1[1:4] = 1111).

I attach the Video captured for LED activity.

Please refer to it.

Thanks

According to the QorIQ LX2160A Reference Design Board Getting Started Guide, Table 11. LED array functions and CPLD HDL code the LEDs activity corresponds to "idle" pattern - i.e. no error detected during power-up.

Is CodeWarrior debug connection with the processor possible?

Yes, Codewarrior connection is OK.

I flashed the firmware with codewarrior and tested DDR verification with QCVS in codewarrior.

But I did not find any errors.

Is there any more checkpoint I can test?

Thanks

Please use a digital scope and check UART1_SOUT signal activity.

Hi,

The RS232 signal is captured by oscilloscope.

But, the signal level is not between +12V ~ -12V.

Then captured signal level is around 0V ~ -6V or -7V.

I attach the captured jpeg file.

Is it the H/W problem?

Thanks

Please disconnect the UART cable and probe the TXD1_CON again.

UART1 signal is captured after removing RS232 cable at TXD1_CON.

The signal level is the same with that previous captured.

Please refer to attached file.

Thanks.

The signal does not correspond to the LTC2804 datasheet.

It looks like the LTC2804 was damaged.

I changed the console from UART#1 to UART#2 and message is output from console.

It seems that UART#1 transceiver is broken as you said.

Thank you for help.

Which boot source is selected by the SW1[1:4]? (What are positions of the switches?)

Please refer to the QorIQ LX2160A Reference Design Board Getting Started Guide, Table 11. LED array functions.

Please capture video of the LEDs activity.
