The board is "development board", it is intended to be used with CodeWarrior to develop your own software. The board does not have any pre-built Linux or bootloader inside, so to bring up UART you have to flash software into onboard flash. In addition to 80-pin flash SIMM, the board has onboard EEPROM, which may be used for booting. Switching between Flash SIMM and EEPROM is performed by SW5(1)
