How to bring-up PQ2-FADS-ZU ?

Hello,

I recently purchased a used PQ2-FADS-ZU development board. I am having a hard time in booting it. There is no 80-pin Flash SIMM module in the package. Can anyone please guide me how to bring-up this board or atleast how to get it working on a RS232 port.

Thanks

The board is "development board", it is intended to be used with CodeWarrior to develop your own software. The board does not have any pre-built Linux or bootloader inside

Can you also kindly guide me if there is a vendor debug rom available for PQ2-FADS-ZU development ?

What do you mean by "debug rom"? PQ2-FADS-ZU does not require any debug rom

I think "Debug rom" is like a bootrom or bootloader which comes pre-flashed with the development board. However, if PQ2-FADS-ZU doesn't contain one, then can you guide me how can I flash a bootrom to flash memory of PQ2-FADS-ZU using VisionICE II's VisionClick utility's TF Flash Programming interface? Or point in the right direction from where I can get support on this ?

Sorry, we do not have any experience with "VisionICE II's VisionClick utility" here, in NXP online technical support.

I can only suggest contacting tool vendor for tool documentation. We support only CodeWarrior and it's Flash Programmer.

Also, as I already said, the board does not have any pre-built Linux or bootloader, this means we do not offer a binary image of this bootloader. However, there is an old Linux BSP for PQ2FADS board, which is not supported anymore because this BSP is quite old, but still available for download. There is no link to this BSP on PQ2FADS board page, please download it from this page:

https://www.nxp.com/products/processors-and-microcontrollers/power-architecture-processors/powerquic...

This Linux BSP is no longer supported and offered "as is". Binary images of full flash and U-boot only - in /images/ folder.

The board is "development board", it is intended to be used with CodeWarrior to develop your own software. The board does not have any pre-built Linux or bootloader inside, so to bring up UART you have to flash software into onboard flash. In addition to 80-pin flash SIMM, the board has onboard EEPROM, which may be used for booting. Switching between Flash SIMM and EEPROM is performed by SW5(1)

Board User Manual, Schematic and other documents are available from this page:

Have a great day,

How can I flash software into the onboard EEPROM ? Does NXP provide any programmers of this board for said purpose ? Are there any JTAG/COP debuggers available ?

Best regards,
