re-enable SYNCIN pin on PF8200

In a custom i.MX8QM board, we are using two PF8200 PMICs (MC33PF8200ESES and MC33PF8200DBES) in combination with several other switching power supplies. In order to optimize EMI behavior, we want to synchronize all PSU to a common reference clock.

For the PF8200 I understood this could be done by applying the reference clock to the SYNCIN pin - which, according to the OTP programming reports, is disabled in both variants during power up because of the OTP configuration.

(a) Do I have the right understanding here?

(b) If the answer on (a) is yes, is there a way to enable SYNCIN again during runtime via I2C?

(c) If the answer on (b) is yes, how do I re-enable SYNCIN?

Thanks

Hello Klaus,

For both the MC33PF8200ESES and MC33PF8200DBES the external clock synchronization is disabled (OTP_SYNCIN_EN = 0) and there is no way to enable this function during runtime via I2C.

Best regards,

Tomas
