Hello,
I just want to know if the PF5020 is safe to pull up the OD outputs (PGOOD, PGOODx, INTB) to a 5V source with 100k. I checked the datasheet and it says it can be pulled up to the VDDIO and the VDDIO is a voltage rail of either 1.8V or 3.3V.
The datasheet mentioned that these OD outputs have max 6V so I think it should be OK since it is open drain but I am just wondering if there is any internal weak pull ups connected to VDDIO that wasn't mentioned in the datasheet.
Thanks.
Thanks David.
Yes VIN will be 5V but VDDIO will be 3.3V.

Hello Thor,
Thank you for using the NXP community.
I personally do not think this is going to be an issue. Anyway, I do recommend using the KITPF5020FRDMEVM Schematics as a reference for your design:
I hope this information helps.

David
Hi David,
Yes I am using that and the SCH-50735 S32K3-T-Box EVM as a references. But both of them are using 3.3V MCUs and in our application, we are using S32K324 MCU which has 5V and 3.3V IO Domains. I am running out of 3.3V IOs from the S32K324 so I have to use the 5V IOs to read the OD outputs of the PF5020.
Hello Thor,
If your main supply voltage is 5V, then, you can pull-up the INTB and PGOOD outputs to such level using a 100kΩ resistor.

David
Hello Thor,
I hope all is great with you. Thank you for using the NXP communities.
Will you supply the device with 5V as well? I mean, the main input supply will be 5V?
I hope this information helps.

David
