Hi,

Our customer wants clarification about the compatibility of the MC34VR5100A2EP PMIC with the LX2160A PMBus. Specifically, their question is the following:

Will the NXP PMBus driver work with this?  Can the slope (m) be changed to a different value based on Read or Write.

Using Direct Mode

VOUT_COMMAND

R=0

m=500

b=0

READ_VOUT

R=0

m=800

b=0

For VOUT_COMMAND

For READ_VOUT

Thank you

Hi, there was a misunderstanding with this request. Please see clarification from the customer below:

"

My question is in regards to the LX2160A PMBus driver capabilities when using PMBus Direct VOUT_MODE.

I'm looking to see how the driver deals with the coefficients, m, b & R.  Are they fixed during set up or can they be changed on the fly?  I want to verify the selected power supply is compatible.

Attached is a page from the PMBus Protocol Spec.  I haven't found anything in the NXP documentation that explains the PMBs operation.

Also, this from the LX2160A datasheet

How does the value stored in the Fuse Status Register get configured to a format usable by a PMBus device and get transferred?

"

Kind regards,
