In FS6513C SBC, deep fail safe state is for the device or the 2 machines(MSM & FSSM) individually?

According to FS6500 SBC user manual, when the deep fail-safe function is enabled, as soon as either the fault error counter reaches its final value or the RSTB pin remains
asserted low for more than 8.0 s, the device switches all the regulators off (except VKAM if VKAM was on) and maintain the safe stateSBC (FS0B and FS1B are activated). So the device enters Deep fail-safe state or is it a state for the machines in(MSM & FSSM) individually, because there are separate bits for checking the deep fail-safe enable/disable state for both the machines?

Thanks in advance.

 Hello Vaibhav,

Basically yes. When the deep fail-state feature is enabled and after the fault error counter reaches its final value or the RESET pin remains asserted low for more than 8 seconds, the device modes to the deep fail-state and will maintain the system in a safe state system (Fail-safe state machine; FS0B and FS1B are activated). Only a Key_OFF/Key_ON sequence (IO_0 = 0 followed by IO_0 = 1) at the system level can recover the situation.

I apologize for the delayed response.

Have a great day,

Paulina

Hello Vaibhav,

The device has two state machines work in parallel: the main state machine which controls the power management and the fail-safe state machine which controls all the safety features (WD, RSTB, FS0B, FS1B, ...). When the deep fail-safe feature is enabled, the SBC completely switched the MCU off and maintains the system in the fail-safe state (FS0B and FS1B are activated).

I hope this information can be helpful.

Have a great day,

Paulina

Hi Paulina,

Thanks for the response.

So is it possible that only one of the state machine goes into deep fail safe state (as they are isolated state machines working in parallel)? & the other keeps working fine.
