P3041 Power with 1 or 2 cores

Hello All,

In my power-sensitive application with P3041 I'll enable just one or two of its cores. At the P3041EC Power characteristics chapter (2.4), it is considered both quad-cores and dual-cores situations. But the P3041 devices are just quad-cores. Does the dual-cores information at the document refer to a situation where it's being used just two cores of the quad-core devices? If that's correct, why the power drops so little, comparing to a quad-core operation, exposed at the same document?

Thanks in advance,

Victor

Hi Victor,

COREDISR register for example provides a mechanism for gating clocks to any cores on the device that are

not used when running an application, so you can disable or use how many cores you want. For full details please read about it and power consumption please read - https://community.freescale.com/message/331948#331948

Marius
