We are starting a design based on P1021 and wanted to know if P1021 would support DDR3L (1.35V) DDR3 memories. Please let me know if its possible.

Regards

Raj

No, P1021 does not support DDR3L. Possible options are DDR2 (GVDD is 1.8V+/-90mV) and DDR3 (GVDD is 1.5V+/-75mV).

Thanks for reply. Only issue is both DDR2/DDR3 don't have good life cycle and many manufacturers are obsoleting them. Hence wanted to double check as some other QorIQ series does support. Is there any part similar to P1021 with DDRL support.

Try to check the datasheet of the DDR3L devices you are going to use. As far as I know, most of the DDR3L memory devices (if not all) support 1.5V supply. This means that DDR3L can be used with the P1021, however power dissipation will be higher.

Yes I have seen on that on many devices. Thanks for the suggestion. This can be way to mitigate the lifecycle problem.
