What is the main reason to split the decoupling/matching capacitors in the reference designs of power transistors?

We went through several reference designs of the power transistors, i.e. MW7IC2725N/A2I2D040N, and in general felt the the xpF capacitors were from ATC, xnF capacitors were from Kemet and xuF capacitors were from Murata. What is the main reason the split the capacitor suplliers like this? Can we replace ATC capacitors with other brands like Kemet or Murata by fullfilling some key parameters since ATC capacitors are very expensive? Thank you.

These ATC parts are ultra-Low ESR, High Q, NPO RF & Microwave Capacitors. You can use similar parts from other vendors for your design. For example, KEMET’s CBR Series surface mount MLCCs.

Regarding the reference board from NXP, the exact capacitor part numbers are listed in the BOM. The models of these capacitors has been used during design. Replacing the parts would somewhat change the performance of the board since these capacitors might have different parasitic parameters (ESL, ESR ...). Probably, you will need some tuning to achieve optimum performance after replacement.

Have a great day,
Pavel
