Does TJA1100 supports Master/Slave auto-configuration?
If so, how do I set it up?
is this mean I should periodically switch master-slave programmatically and check if link is up?
Is there way to find out if cable was plugged in case of master/slave mode is not correct, ex. my device is slave and remote device is slave?

Normally the automotive ethernet PHYs are used in pre-defined HW configurations where master-slave roles are known by design. Yes, you can switch master-slave modes periodically and check if link is up.
The PHY has a feature to check cabling errors like open/short, this can be used to test if a remote parter is connected at the cable end.

No, it doesn't. The user needs to explicitly set the TJA1100 to be a master or slave.
