Hello,

I builded a SMPS based on the TEA1916 combo and following the example TEA1916DB1262UL.

The current output protection is working as expected when a short output is applied.

The power output is also getting up to 250W (I cannot go further due to load and supply power limits).

Considering the device will have a power requirement of 180W, I would like to set the power output rating to 180W.

Please, may I know which setting must be applied in order to fix the power rating or current protection to specific limits?

I tried changing the resistor at the sensing circuit for SNSCUR (HBC side) without success.

Thanks

Hello Julio,

To lower the max output power limit, SNSCAP divider ratio needs to be adjusted as well. Please refer to the AN11801 page 63 to 66 (or section 9.9.2 to 9.2.4) for fine tuning details.

Best regards,

Tomas
