RF Power Output of MMZ25333BT1

I want to use MMZ25333BT1 to output 2W of RF output at 2200 MHz. According to the datasheet, it seems to be possible (https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/data-sheet/MMZ25333B.pdf )

I designed a board based on MMZ25333BT1 (Figure 19 in the datasheet). I tweaked the bias resistors for Icq = 450 mA, so using R1 = 1.2k Ohm and R2 = 330 Ohm.

When I observed the RF power output, I could not get beyond 29.5 dBm. Is there some reason why I am missing out on the remaining output power?

Thanks

Hello, Sumitk, where did you download the model of MMZ25333BT1? Could you please send me a copy? My email is yanglin@hebust.edu.cn

Hi sumtik,

Yes you can get 2W out of the MMZ25333BT1.  However, this is either modulated or pulsed.  Running CW up to 2W will likely incur some thermal limitation.

What is your test signal?

Also, have you calibrated out any of the losses (cables) at the output?

Finally, any chance you are current limited by your power supply?

Thanks,

Justin
