Dear NXP team,

I am using the PTN5150H for an UFP application without I2C.

I tested the following circuit :

PTN5150H_eval.PNG

SJ1 and SJ2 are shorted and C1=1uF.

R1=R2=R3=R4=10kohm

I connected a USB cable Type C to Type C (CBL-UC-UC-20BP - Cui) from my PC (a Microsoft Surface Pro) to the circuit using an USB Type C receptacle.

You can find attached the results:

CH1: VDD=VBUS, CH2: ADR

CH1: OUT2, CH2: OUT1

Can you explain this behavior ?

Do you have a clue why VBUS drops to less than 1V even though nothing consumes ?

Note: This result is reproducible but does not always occur.

In fact, sometimes, VBUS is clean at 5V and ADR stays at 0V.

When unplugging and replugging the cable, the result described with the screen captures is reproduced.)

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Paul-Alexandre

You can try to add  below picture showed circuit to test again, for getting the  Logic to enable VBus discharge function :
