PCF2131TF Vbat > Vdd

Hello,

In our application we have a supercap connected to Vbat on the PCF2131TF. Our logic is running at 3.3V but we also have a 5V rail available. The PCF2131TF is running in I2C mode.

We would like to connect the supercap to charge from the 5V rail for a longer RTC running time when system power is removed.

Will the PCF2131TF support having the Vbat rail at 5V while Vdd is 3.3V?

Hello Jason.

Yes, the PCF2131TF will operate with those voltages at Vbat and Vdd.
