Hi,
I am using PCA9617 in one of my application. PCA9617 is used for board to board I2C bus, having hot swap functionality. Enable pin of the PCA9617 permanently tied high.
During some instances of hotswapping the I2C signals i.e the SCL/SDA are getting damaged i.e. one side of the device gets permanently low. I have to replace the IC (PCA9617). My circuit does have analog switch for hot swap control and I see it is operation as intended. Note my VCCA=3.3V and VCCB=5V.
I am assuming it might be happening due to either voltage or current stress occuring during Hot swapping.
Is my assumption correct or might there be some another reason?
Appreciate your feedback!
Thank you for the reply.
I will test with the above ICs you mentioned and get back to you soon
