(Newbie here) How to format/erace a Classic 1K tag

Hi,

I am very new at this so sorry for that.

I want to know how I can fully erase a NXP-Mifare Classic 1 K tag.

I tried via a NFC reader, the ACR122u and the software NFS Tools for desktop but tghat dont do anything. After selecting Erase the former user is still visible so the tag cant be used for some1 else.

The format option isnt available in this software.

Any tips?

Hello,

We don't provide support for a configuration using NFC Tools, since MIFARE Classic features can be obtained form our datasheet, is possible to configure and use it without any limitations. But, I must mention that MIFARE Classic has some known security issues and, it isn't recommended for new designs.

I have to recommend to please explore the possibility of using MIFARE Ultralight instead.
