I'm trying to determine why the data sheet for MC7805CTG - NXP Freescale is from ON Semiconductor. Is there a relationship between NXP Freescale and ON Semiconductor that is not widely known? Our internal database shows NXP Freescale as the supplier for this part but all the documentation we've obtained (data sheet, RoHS statement, etc.) is from ON Semiconductor. I need to explain this to our Engineering Change Control Board (ECCB) before they will approve any changes to our internal database. Any information you're able to provide would be appreciated.
