MAC address setting in MPC8313RDB

Hi,

We are using a hardware derived from MPC8313RDB for our development.

The board uses a KSZ8041NLI physical layer transceiver.

The hardware runs with uboot (bootloader) and Linux OS.

I would like to know how should we allocate a MAC ID to our hardware.

Does the MAC ID has to be supplied by Freescale or we have to assign it ourselves?

If it's just for testing and development, you can use any MAC you want. If it's for a product you're going to sell, you'll need to buy a block of MAC addresses if your company doesn't already have its own.

You'll need an ORGANIZATIONALLY UNIQUE IDENTIFIER (OUI)

...unless you'll ever sell a very small number of them or cannot affort to buy an OUI.
