I am using the TJA1042 CAN transceiver. Is there a way to detect short/open faults for CAN-H and CAN-L ?

Since there is no error pin for notifying the error, what is the transceiver's ability to detect short/open conditions.

Hi Peter,

The TJA1042 does not have such capability, I would recommend using fault-tolerant CAN transceivers such as the TJA1055.
