GND connection for BMS stacking daisy chain

I want to stack BMS AFE with Daisy chain communication.

I want to understand the ground pin connection of top and bottom AFE.

1. Do I need to connect Gnd of top to bottom top cell?

2. Two seperate GND? If two Ground are isolated, what is reference for different GNDs. I am just confused with GND pin connection. Please help me out
