Hi NXP,
Lately we've been observing that ISENSE pin seems to generate its own voltage above 3V (2.5V being my threshold) which is why SC fault which is configured to trigger above 2.5V is triggering. We have tried isolating the ISENSE pin from any other connections in the board still it seems to generate voltages. Can you please clarify what could be the issue?
Hi Akshat,
please share your schematic with voltage levels and part values. Please share the content of the CONFIG2 and MODE2 registers.
According to the GD3162 datasheet, Table 2. the ISEN/COMP pin is input, it shouldn't generate any voltage.
If you have set the ISNCMP_EN bit in the MODE2 register to 1, please test to set it to 0.
Also please download AN13691 and refer to the section 3.2.2 "ISEN/COMP as current sense protection" for ISENSE pin function and settings. Please download the AN13691 from the GD3162 product page, under the Secure section.
With Best Regards,
Jozef
