The PCF8883 (and all the rest of the proximity sensor from our portfolio) are End-of-Life, so, unfortunately, there is no direct replacement for the PCF8883 in the NXP portfolio.
There are some proximity sensors from the NXP portfolio named MPR121 and MPR083 which were transferred to Resurgent Semiconductor.
Resurgent assumed all manufacturing, marketing and sales of these devices under the same MPR121 and MPR083 part numbers.
As of July 10th, 2015, all new orders must be placed with Resurgent.
