Does the E5500 single-core family of products have a BSP for V2.0 Yocto SDK?

Hello @pholden

Hope this email finds you well,

I highly recommend you to check the Supported Targets of the SDK v2.0-1703.

Please find them at the following link:

I did look at that table (the one I found goes all the way to SDK2.0), and found that it should be supported (I assume Rev 1.0 refers to a BSP?).   When I installed SDK2.0.1703 here on my desktop and tried to source setup.env using "-m t1014", I got an error.  Is there something I'm missing in the install that's specific for this product family, like a BSP package?

Hello @pholden

Hope this email finds you well,

The Rev1.0 means the sillicon revition as it is indicated at the note from Section 2.4 Supported Targets
"In the following tables, in the rows corresponding to the processors, the silicon revision is indicated"

I would like to inform you that it is called a  Software Development Kit (SDK) rather than a board support package (BSP) since the SDK contains more than a single BSP; it supports numerous NXP processors and contains all the tools, accelerators, and unique features supported in the particular release. Many customers never need additional tools to get into production.

In addition I would like to inform you that the on SDK V2.0 it is used Yocto 2.0 (jethro).

Have a great day.

BR,

Hector V.

@pholden

In addition to my last reply,

Regarding your last reply " setup.env using "-m t1014", I got an error. "

This error is facing when it does not recognize the machine, are you able to use a different machine on the process like the "t1024rdb "?

Could you please provide us with your full part number?

Is there any specific log error?

Is this a custom board?

Have a great day,

BR,

Hector V.

Hector,

Thanks so much for the great info!  Answers to your questions, plus one of my own at the end:

>>  Could you please provide us with your full part number?

I don't have one, as I'm just trying to scope out a project for a client.

>> Is there any specific log error?

So far, just that the -m e5500 wasn't valid and I got a list of valid machine types.

>>  Is this a custom board?

Yes, this is a custom board based on the single-core E5500.  I'll be adding custom drivers and custom device tree to the build for this system.  Right now I'm just in the exploration phase for a client proposal.

My question for you:  On machine type, is it valid to use "-m t1024" if I have a board that's based on the single-core E5500?

No problem, Hector.  We're all busy!  This is great news, we are in the final stages of getting this work, so I am sure I'll be back with more questions once I get going with using the SDK.  I'll close this topic out for now.

Thanks!
